The purpose of this position is to provide the overall leadership for eLearning, instructional design, and faculty development in alternative methods of instructional delivery.The individual in this position is responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of all eLearning support services. Provides leadership to faculty and other emerging technologies that strengthen off-site access to educational opportunities in the NIC service area. Deadline: 14 June 2013 (Tracking code: 13-072)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Provides vision and leadership in the integration of technology to support learning in all areas of instruction; and serves the mission of NIC by working productively with faculty, staff, and administration to create a campus climate that promotes student-centered distant learning.
- Provides leadership in the development and implementation of the NIC quality standards for electronic, and other methods off-site eLearning course delivery methods to assure comparability with traditional classes.
- Collaborates with instructional deans, directors, division chairs and the dual enrollment program in the preparation of all course schedules.
- Directs and supervises the e-learning support team that provides assistance in course design and technology training for faculty teaching and instructional division support staff.
- Works with the Department of Information Technology to ensure solid infrastructure for eLearning and to coordinate the financial support for eLearning presently and in the future
- Coordinates and manages all budgets related to eLearning programs and projects.
- Supervises and evaluates all eLearning staff, programs and projects.
- Provides faculty development support when possible through training opportunities, and technical support.
- Responsible for maintaining the academic policies and standards of best practices relating to ELearning.
- Oversees the creation and maintenance of the eLearning web site.
- Represents North Idaho College at local, regional, state, and national distance education forums.
- Assists the College through participation on various planning and advisory committees.
- Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with supervisor, college staff, students, and the community.

Education and Experience
Master’s degree is required. Master’s degree in education is preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in organizational leadership is required. Online teaching experience in higher education preferred.
